The best defense against a mistake is education when it comes to finding out if franchise or business ownership is even right for you. Franchising isn’t for everybody; what we need to understand from the beginning, is that the initial process is about getting knowledge regarding franchise ownership. Then we’ll look at franchise ownership and see if it is right for you. There are so many things that have to take place before making a decision, that it’s crucial to have this knowledge, education and guidance. The Lie vs. The Life

THE TRUTH YOU NEED TO KNOW

I spend a lot of time out in nature which is a choice I made a long time ago. One day, I was thinking about my life which made me recall a song by Kenny Chesney called, “The Life.”

The song is about a man who lives in Texas who’s obviously a big corporate guru and has a lot of money. He flies down to Mexico for a vacation, while there, he’s on the beach and meets Jose who is selling fresh snapper. In the song the corporate guy is quick to tell Jose that he lives the life back in Texas. He has the money and drives a Lexus. He is living the dream life and is simply down there on vacation. Jose just smiles, looks at him and says, “Amigo, I live the life too,” he says. “I fish, I play my guitar, I laugh at the bar with my friends, I go home to my wife and I pray every night that I can do it all over again, now isn’t that the life!” In the song the corporate man reflects on his life and thinks, “well maybe Jose is right.”

The point of this is that everybody’s perspective is different and with business ownership, everybody’s perspective should be different. Business ownership isn’t for everybody and I will be the first one to tell that to the people I meet with when we talk about their future. What I do want people to know, is that simply, sometimes the life is a lie and some of us have been told that lie for years.
